Spanish Evening

Aptly timed to coincide with the end of the GCSEs, girls, staff, parents, friends, and Goretti, a Spanish dancer, all met in the hall for a Spanish Evening in June. It was wonderful to see the event so well attended, and with such a varied programme, there really was something for everyone.

The New Hall

The new hall was opened on 16 September 2006. The building is magnificent, an impressive, simple structure that can be a badminton court, a gym, a theatre, a meeting room, an examination hall, an assembly room or a concert hall with lighting, projection facilities and a sound system. More...

Woman of the Future - Vicky Jewson

Up and coming young film director Vicky Jewson has netted a major award. She scooped the top prize in the Arts, Media and Culture category of the Woman of the Future awards. Vicky is directing a modern-day reinterpretation of Lady Godiva partly filmed in Oxford. She shared the award with Jasmine Al Fayed, daughter of Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed.

She said: "It was a real shock but it means I can build my profile nationally and it will help find a distributor for the film."

Value Added

Wychwood School has come 20th in the country in the new ‘Value Added’ school league table for secondary schools recently introduced by the Department for Education and Skills. Wychwood is the only school in Oxfordshire to come in the top 20 for Added Value and tops the performance of all other Oxfordshire schools. More...
